Over the past year, everyone has been talking about the move out of the AFL-CIO and into the Change to Win Federation. What exactly is Change to Win? Who is included in Change to Win? How are we changing and winning?
In the 2004 Presidential Elections, although the AFL-CIO backed John Kerry, the campaign was not successful. Many Union leaders believed that this was due to the lack of emphasis placed on organizing. Without the numbers, without the people, fighting in the political arena would be moot. When confronted with change, the AFL-CIO was unwilling, and therefore the Change to Win Federation was born.
The Change to Win Federation includes the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, the Service Employees International Union, UNITE HERE, the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union, the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, the Laborersí International Union of North America and the United Farm Workers of America, among others.

DRIVE stands for Democrat Republican Independent Voter Education. It is a fund exclusive to Teamster members, funded only by Teamster member donations.
In this day and age, everyone knows that everything we do, whether it is at work or at home, is affected by the local, state or federal politicians. The Teamsters seek out those politicians who share the same goals, have a proven "union-friendly"platform and stand up against legislation that damages not only the brothers and sisters in public sector jobs, but our brothers and sisters paying taxes, sending children to school and living as closely as they can to the "American Dream."
DRIVE money supports those candidates. DRIVE money also goes towards destroying the campaigns of those politicians who are anti-Union, anti-middle class and anti-working Teamster family.
The standard contribution to DRIVE is just one dollar a week. To donate, all you have to do is call the local and get a registration card sent to you.
Donít let Politicians walk all over you, DRIVE them out!
